Timex Men’s T42351 Expedition Premium Collection Chronograph Watch
Timex Men’s T42351 Expedition Premium Collection Chronograph Watch

Fulfill your need for speed with this Timex Expedition Premium Collection chronograph watch, which features a bezel with an engraved tachymeter to help you measure time over distance. Its rugged construction makes for a very practical watch for any adventure, and the chronograph stopwatch can measure events down to 1/20 of a second. The large, round watch case measures 40mm wide (1.57 inches), and it’s complemented by a sporty, water-resistant leather strap. Other features include luminous hands, an easy-set alarm (rotate inner bezel to set alarm time), and water resistance to 100 meters (330 feet)–offering protection from accidental splashes as well suitable for swimming, snorkeling, and light recreational diving.
The Indiglo night-light uniformly lights the surface of the watch dial using patented blue electroluminescent lighting technology. It uses less battery power than most other watch illumination systems, enabling your watch battery to last longer. The Night Mode feature allows you to illuminate the Indiglo night-light for 3 seconds with any button press, regardless of the mode or function.

4 Stars Handsome black face
Beautiful looking watch, very easy alarm to set for an analogue watch, the night mode is an interesting feature; you press the centre crown and the face illuminates for about 4 seconds. I own 5 Timex expeditions and this is by far the best quality. I have owned this watch before (got stolen) so was extremely happy when I found it on Amazon. It has never let me down and the strap holds up well in salt water. Good watch for rough outdoor activites. I would have given this watch 5 stars if the strap was a bit more comfortable on my wrist, but others may find it perfect. I really can’t fault this watch otherwise.
2 Stars The watch is okay at best, the band is where I have a problem
I love my Timex watches, I have 4 of them. I ordered this one a couple of weeks ago (5-1-2010), and I must say that I am not blown away. I have worn it for 3 days as opposed to all 14, only due to the fact that the band is so unforgiving. I compare it to bending a butter knife around your wrist and attaching a watch face to it. The band is tough! Some complain on other watches that the band seems cheap… This band is not only NOT CHEAP, but too rigid for me. I am sure that it will last forever, but I don’t like the toughness of it. I know that I only notice this because of the pin/hole conundrum. The holes are set approximately 1/4 of an inch apart, but for me only (underline me only) one hole is too loose, causing the watch face to spin around to the palm side of my wrist. The next hole is too tight, cutting off circulation to my hand, and causing pretty noticeable irritation where it digs into my flesh due to the firmness of the material.
The watch face is okay. In this case, I would say that the picture does it justice while another one of my Timex watches looks only so-so on the photo’s but is actually SO MUCH more beautiful. Timex Men’s T42761 Expedition Adventure Tech Digital Compass Watch
This watch fits perfectly, looks better, is more light weight and the strap is much more forgiving. I am in love, love, love with this watch. My T42351 however, is due for a trip back to Amazon. It just doesnt fit my taste in the looks, functionality or comfort departments.
Please keep in mind that this is simply my review of my personal preferences and taste. Others, I am sure love this watch, and I really believe that it would grow on me too if I seared a new hole in the band at the halfway point of my two infuriating holes. But if I did that and messed up, or still didn’t like it, I am stuck with an un-returnable product that I don’t like.
4 Stars Timex
I like the look of Marathon and Luminox dive watches. This has the look without the price-tag. And it’s a Timex so I knew it would keep time well. Plus it listed chronograph, Indiglo, and an alarm as features.
Like many cheap choronographs, this one doesn’t work well. When I reset it, the second hand rests 1 second behind the 12. The minute hand rests at the 1. I’ve had chronos like this. You just have to subtract 1 minute and 1 second from the displayed time. This would have been okay if not for the 2nd problem. When you stop the clock, the minute hand jumps ahead by an unpredictable amount. I think it may have crossed wires (figuratively) with the lap split function. That’s okay for me though, since I like chronos for the look rather than the function. I use a cheap digital stop-watch when I’m running and use my Seiko chrono for when I’m driving.
The Indiglo feature is always nice to have. This one seems dimmer than the other expedition, no doubt because of the black face. Everything is still readable so I have no issues with it. Like most glow-in-the-dark (GITD) paint, the hands on the watch only glow for a few seconds before they need a recharge. Doesn’t really matter though, considering the watch comes with Indiglo.
The alarm feature is great plus. This has come in handy on training and deployments when I’m trying to catch some sleep whenever, wherever I can. The sound is quiet enough to not bother those around me much, but loud enough to wake me since I sleep on my arms and the watch is right next to my ear.
It’s a tough watch that looks good, keeps time, and is very handy for people who take frequent naps. I’m very happy with it. Just don’t count on the chronograph to work.
BTW, it looks great on a Maratac Zulu band.
5 Stars AMAZE
This is my first purchase of a Timex watch, in over forty years and I am amaze of the watch appearance and the functionality of it. I purchased the watch for daily use, however I find myself wearing it everywhere. I would strongly recommend this watch to anyone looking to buy a watch, especially when you consider the price of it.

5 Stars A better watch for less money
This watch is great. Its features are very well thought out. It looks slick. It keeps good time. The Indiglo is indispensable. It’s also not too big for narrow wrists (like mine). I only have two complaints: 1) the alarm occasionally (maybe one in ten times) doesn’t go off as it’s supposed to and 2) the band is annoying; it’s too thick, the second loop doesn’t stay put (always slips off the end of the excess length), and it’s very stiff. I recently bought a Maratac NATO band, though, so that fixes that.
I’ve had it for a little over a month, and so far, I’m very pleased. Best watch I’ve bought, without even considering the excellent price.
